Milton Keynes – Summer holiday season has arrived and it’s at this time of year that the true versatility of cars is really tested. Whether it is a weekend getaway or two weeks in the south of France, Volkswagen’s range of accessories help customers to get the most out of their vehicle.

One of the more recent additions to Volkswagen’s broad line-up of SUVs is the Tiguan Allspace. This model is a larger version of the regular Tiguan, with a wheelbase that’s increased by 109 mm and an overall length that’s up by 215 mm. All this extra space means a third row of seats is included as standard, making the Tiguan Allspace a seven-seater that will ferry a family to their holiday destination in comfort and style.

To make the most of their Tiguan Allspace, Volkswagen customers can fit a range of accessories that are tailored to this go-anywhere SUV. Roof bars connect to the standard-fit roof rails to create an adjustable platform that other Volkswagen accessories will connect to.

With the third row of seats folded flat the Tiguan Allspace has a carrying capacity of 700 litres. But as we approach peak holiday season that might not be enough, in which case a roof box could come in handy. Volkswagen has three different sizes of roof box available. The first gives 340 litres of extra space and is available in matt black. It is safe as well as secure, with a maximum capacity of 50 kg. Also available is a larger 460 litre version, and the versatile Urban Loader roof box can be adjusted from 300 to 500 litres.

Volkswagen’s bicycle holder also fits the aforementioned roof bars. The bicycle holder has been designed to be aerodynamically efficient, and the clever locking system makes it easy to fit the bike to the holder. Anti-theft protection is included as standard, and it fits bikes that weigh up to 20 kg and with down tube widths of up to 80 mm diameter.

Skiing isn’t quite a summer activity but Volkswagen likes to cover all bases, which is why it has developed a clever ski and snowboard holder. It holds six pairs of skis or four snowboards and is lockable so the customer knows their sporting equipment will stay safe and secure.

For the more serious cycling holiday the Compact III Bicycle Carrier may be more suitable than the roof bar-mounted option. A quick release system makes it easy to connect to the Tiguan Allspace’s towbar. Three bikes can be carried, up to a maximum weight of 54 kg and with wheelbases up to 125 cm. A locking device keeps the bikes secure, and when it’s not in use it will fold into a bag that fits into the spare wheel well.

Accessing the roof mounted carriers is made easier with the Tiguan Allspace running boards, which are mounted to the underside of the chassis and are made of silver anodised aluminium. They can hold a weight of 200 kg, look stylish, and include anti-slip inserts.

Other accessories protect various aspects of the Tiguan Allspace, such as the door sill trim that is available with a black/silver finish and protects against scratches and marks when people climb in and out of the car. The transparent rear bumper protector is useful when loading. And the rubber floor mats are durable and non-slip – useful when it’s muddy outdoors.

Volkswagen has a wide range of accessories that tailor all of its current models to specific uses. Volkswagen also has a range of designed to fit models that are no longer on sale. For full information visit our comprehensive website at
