►Touran EcoFuel is currently one of most successful CNG cars in Europe

►Addition of TSI twincharger technology significantly boosts performance

  • One of six world premieres for Volkswagen at the Geneva Motor Show
  • Entirely new natural gas version of the Touran compact MPV
  • Uses TSI technology: twincharged via a turbocharger and supercharger to give more dynamic performance than any CNG vehicle before it
  • Maximum power output of 150 PS – yet consumption of just 4.8 kg of natural gas per 100 km and CO2 output of 129 g/km (manual)
  • With optional seven-speed DSG gearbox – as fitted to the Geneva show car – these figures reduce to 4.7 kg and 126 g/km
  • Touran TSI EcoFuel features three natural gas tanks and an auxiliary petrol tank
  • Gas tanks are housed underfloor, a safe, space-saving location
  • Designed for dual-fuel operation with automatic switching to petrol only when the gas tanks are empty
  • Engine develops 220 Nm (162 lbs ft) of torque from 1,500 up to 4,500 rpm
  • UK introduction yet to be confirmed
